Medway U9 Lacrosse
The Medway Youth Lacrosse (MYL) U9 program teaches boys, in grades 1 and 2, the important individual and team skills of lacrosse.
Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and positive youth sports experience. Like the sport of lacrosse, our practice sessions are high energy and players are in constant motion.
Medway U9 boys lacrosse consists of two teams:
Year-One Team - this team is for boys new to playing organized lacrosse. The focus is on core skill development, team play, and basic lacrosse knowledge. The Year-One Team meets one day per week, typically Saturday mornings. Each session lasts 90 minutes. Full-equipment is required. MYL provides equipment starter packages that can be purchased or rented for the season. Each new player receives a Medway Youth Lacrosse reversible shirt.*
Year-Two Team - boys who have played in the Spring 2017 season are eligible to play on Year-Two team. The season will consist of two, 90 minute, midweek practice and one game on Sunday. The boys will compete against neighboring towns as part of the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (www.mbyll.org). Full-equipment is required. Each player receives a shooter shirt.
*Medway Youth Lacrosse provides used and new starter packages for U9 players. Families can purchase or rent equipment. When you register, please indicate if your son requires a starter package. The starter package includes a stick, helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, and arm guards. Mouth guards and athletic supporters are also required, but not included in the starter package. Orders will be placed for players registered on or before December 15, 2017.
For the 2018 season, U9 registration is $120 and requires an additional $40 for registration to MBYLL (Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League).
